On Its Third Day, Amman Summer Festival is Still Drawing Happiness on the Faces
21/07/2010
New Date : 21/07/2010

Fifteen thousand visitors, young, children, and families, enjoyed the various and diverse activities that overwhelmed the spaces of Al Hussein Parks within the festivities of the Amman Summer Festival of 2010, which lasted from seven to eleven in the evening. In atmospheres of Jubilation and joy that prevailed throughout the Festival premises, the beginning was with a variety show for the kids, with games, and face painting kiosks, alongside a graphical dancing and the story “ Who Loves Jordan More Than Me” by the writer Wafa’ Al Qsous, which was well received. This was followed by other performances by the magicians Samer and Fadi Allord. With 14 dancers clad in folkloric Armenian costumes, the Band called “Speedak for Armenian Folkloric Dancing”, following the First National Sports Club, presented its first theater activity through which they performed the boys and girls dance which is normally performed in weddings, in addition to other dances, each with a different name and related to a meaning or a story in the Armenian culture. The audience interacted with the movements of the dancers, males or females, who were quite prepared and distinguished. They enjoyed watching their dances and listening to their impactful music, all presented by this skillful band, which proved the saying that “music is the language of people”, not in any need of a translator to grasp the meanings and implications of the movements of the folkloric dancers, males or females. The main theater activities which lasted for three hours combined colorful musical varieties of the Armenian culture, patriotic, folkloric, and rapturous songs, in addition to comic performances by the Jordanian Comedian, Nabeel Sawalhah. In this atmosphere of laughter and comedy, Nabeel Sawalhah appeared before the public with his stimulating and enjoyable style through his comic performance which was received with great laughter for almost one hour, and comprised comic, improvised sketches with which the public happily interacted. Just before he stared his program, Nabeel Sawalhah trained the public on “Yuga for Laughter”, addressing them that laughter is very good for health. He also pointed out, through his sketch, which reflected that the nature of the Jordanian people makes them afraid to laugh; pointing out that fear chases them, even when they smile. Sawalhah, who founded Haya Cultural Center and run it until 1993 shed light, through his comic program, on the forthcoming elections, the defunct parliament, reasons behind violence and quarrels in society, and the Jordanian songs in such a hilarious style. With the song “Raje’”, Jordanian artist, Tawfeeq Al Dalu, whose performance is known to be accurate and sensitive, welcomed the audience. Al Dalu, who joined other Jordanian singers in performing “ Ya Urdon, Ya Ghali “ ( Oh Dearest Jordan), further presented a group of patriotic songs upon request from the public who also joined him in singing” Hashemi, Hashemi “ Ya Beiragna Ya Ghali “ ( OH Dearest Flag ). He then sang the folkloric songs, including : “Ya Sa’d “,” Mar’iyah “ ( Highly Appreciated and Protected ), and” Wein ‘ Aa Ramallah”( Where To Ramallah). The famous singer, Al Dalu also sang a group of his own songs, which received the appreciation of the public who commended the fact that the Festival this year was distinguished by the sheer fact that Jordanian artists have extensively participated in it The GAM Festival of “Amman Summer”, annually conducted with free activities to the Jordanian public and the Arab brethren, contributes in the reinforcement of the cultural and tourism movement in the City, besides providing entertainment to the families in a comfortable atmosphere. On Wednesday, the 21st of July, Al Khareqoun(The Incredible) Band for Modern Dancing, and Al Ramtha Band presented artistic performances on the main stage. Fans of rapturous singing have a date with the Jordanian artist, Rami Al Khaled. In the children zone, Tempo Institute for Teaching Dancing shall present a show, in addition to other programs of laughter, play, and theater, along with a reading atmosphere provided by the mobile library Met’eb Al Saqar, the Jordanian singer performs on the main stage on 22 July, along with GAM Folkloric Band. The fifth day shall include comic shows, and the children with their families shall enjoy the shows by the magicians Fadi and Samer Al Lord. There is also the Graphic Show- the story “ Zahri, Zahri” by the writer Wafa’ Al Qsous in the children zone.
