The World & CSR: Building Capacity to Change the World
Business leaders are inspired to engage in rebuilding public trust, manage new and unfamiliar risks, respond to rising societal expectations, while remaining profitable and competitive in a global economy. As a result, the subject of corporate responsibility and citizenship is our focus as we build new capacities to change the world.
As we evolve from check book philanthropy to social venture partnerships, more and more people and organizations are looking at how we can engage in effective change, putting people first and focusing on values, value protection, value creation, and evaluation. Corporate sector partnerships are helping the evolution of cultural and economic justice, international morality, and new global dialogs encouraging diversity and tolerance.

Doing good: an individual belief, a national effort and a corporate commitment. What is our social responsibility to ourselves, our culture, the world and intercultural dialog?
What is the role of corporates in the export image of our country and identity, and what is their social responsibility for a better world?
What are the different capacities needed within organizations, corporate structures, the public sector, media and our streets in order to address attitudinal challenges for social change?

The Role of Media in CSR: Responsible Power to the People
In today and tomorrow’s world the importance of effectively using and understanding the written and the audiovisual is paramount. The language of multimedia is a vital and necessary literacy. The power of media is phenomenal. Media coverage of corporate social responsibility programs can truly contribute towards the benefit of the community.

In this Forum we aim to find effective ways to tell stories in a manner that engages and connects to the big picture, so that it touches people’s lives. We view the media as partners in our commitment to good, and as a catalyst for inspiring effective good. The relationship between media outlets and CSR is much more than publishing or broadcasting press releases and reactive news. Playing the role of informing, explaining, provoking and analyzing is paramount. Successful development depends on the awareness, will and participation of the people, and media can be an effective mouth piece of the people, improving the level of public debate and running with issues at full speed.

Raising the bar. More than mere reporting or picking up on issues when it’s too late or when disasters occurs, media must become more intuitive, playing a true partnership role towards collective good. How can media take a real lead and truly get involved, becoming a partner?
How can new content creators like bloggers, independent filmmakers and interactive media journalists contribute? How do we encourage them to become more engaged?
What is the role of media workers in creating and using new language and terminology around sustainable development issues and business-community relations?
Taking a look at the types of relationships that exists between the media and the private sector. What are the challenges the media faces while covering CSR issues?

Wellbeing, Health, Sports, Environment & CSR: Lifestyle
Humanity achieves it’s full potential in a healthy, safe, non-violent environment. Healthy lifestyles, improved safety measures and quality healthcare have progressively reduced disease and disability. The fulfillment of human needs for health, emotional and social wellbeing, clean air, water and food is a total community responsibility. Multi-stakeholder partnerships have emerged because of a realization that many of today's social, economic and environmental challenges are far too complex for one sector to tackle alone. Public and private sector institutions are working collaboratively to build capacity to address health, safety, environment and general wellness.

Collectively, stakeholders are defining standards for corporate responsibility and accountability in relation to health, the environment, human rights, and community wellbeing. Competitors are finding common ground as they collaborate towards social good.

Improved general wellbeing contributes to healthier attitudes.
Sports for healthy minds, engaged communities and social respect: how sports, sports heroes and fans contribute to healthier communities in mind, body and soul. Why should sports be moved from the sidelines to the forefront of social activities?
The dire need for local solutions to environmental and development issues. What are our environmental challenges?
Global and internal tourism ethics, voluntourism: how do we motivate internal and foreign tourists to encounter the country and its people in a respectful, emotionally satisfying way?
