Badr Al Jadeeda lies west of Wadi
Esseir region, and is divided into seven neighborhoods.
It covers an area of 62 km2 and has a population of 11,
000. The Shrine of the Bilal Bin Rabah, one of the
Prophet’s companions, is found here. The area is a
highland noted for its woodland trees, particularly oak,
which has been recently adopted as the national tree.
There are also plenty of olives trees and the area is a
tourist destination
Badl Al Jadeeda is located in the
western part of Greater Amman, bound on the east by Wadi
Esseir; lands of Fuheis and Mahess on the north; Mahess
and Al Wadi Al Akhdar to the west; and the latter also
forms the boundary on the south.
Badr Al Jadeeda is
distinguished for its hills and valleys. It is a natural
extension of Greater Amman Municipality, overlooking the
Dead Sea and Palestine’s eastern mountain range. Its
mountains are dense with woodland trees, olive trees and
grapevines. The area has seen enormous building
expansion lately.
Badr Al Jadeeda, like other regions
of GAM, enjoys a great deal of attention by GAM in terms
of street construction, building of protective walls and
staircases, setting up public parks, street lighting,
and other municipal services.

Population: Estimated at 10,800.
The Region is comprised of several
neighborhoods: Firdous, Um Al Usud, Al Sweisa, Al
Rabaheya Al Shamaleya, Al rabaheya Al Janoubeya, Zebda,
Bilal.
