Antiquities and ancient sites found in the area :
This region is rich in antiquities. A mosaic floor of multi colors and adorned with various geometrical shapes, and images of plants and animals was discovered. A vast cemetery that dates back to the Roman period was also discovered in Jawa and another one west of Khraibet Essouq, in addition to a large water pond in Al Yadoudeh. There is also a church that dates back to the Byzantine era. Excavation projects conducted by the Antiquities Department in 1981 indicate that the region went through five historical periods: Roman, Byzantine, Umayyad, Mameluke and Ottoman.
