Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) is keen on maximizing contact with the citizens of Amman and on including them in the decision-making process pertaining to development of the local community. And, considering its firm belief that development gains are but the outcome of this contact, interaction and participation in drawing policies and taking decisions, GAM, through this vision and perspective, and in order to provide the best services possible to service-recipients, seeks to better inform the citizens about its role in translating said policies and vision into tangible results.

In this regard GAM saw fit to present to citizens a clear picture of facts, plans, accomplishments, numbers and visions related to GAM functions. This is in line with our belief in the necessity of effectuating developmental awareness among citizens of the capital, and encouraging their participation in developing the local community.

In order to achieve this goal, GAM started recently the publication of an informative booklet for each of the twenty Regions of Amman. These brochures contain ample description of each Region’s natural, demographic and service-related characteristic.

As Al Nusr is on of the twenty Regions, we are glad to provide some of the information contained in Al Nusr Region booklet to interested readers on the Internet.

The Region’s Boundaries:

By Basman Region on the west;

In 2002, the population of Al Nusr Region was 216,109.
