Cooperation Among Cities
The City of Amman derives its entitlement to conclude agreements with other cities from provisions provided for by Jordan Municipalities Law No. 29 of 1955, amendments thereto and bylaws issuing therefrom. The Law defined GAM as a financially independent private corporation and as a municipality in all aspects, therefore cooperation with other cities stems from the obligations undertaken by the Municipality towards citizens, i.e. providing services. Some of the areas in which the Municipality cooperates with other cities are:
Those related to local administration and governance
Municipalities works and essential services provided to cities

Protecting the environment against pollution
Training
Developing cultural, artistic and youth activities
Those related to planting trees and ‘greenification’ in cities, public parks and gardens
Those related to public libraries and accompanying activities
