The Municipality provides direct free services to residents, such as:

Referral Services
The Municipality has established Citizens’ Referral Offices (CRO) in all Municipality regions. These offices provide free referral services to citizens with respect to functions of the Municipality, and assist applicants in filling out application forms. There is a CRO in the Municipality’s main building as well.

Free Library Services
The Municipality has established more than 30 public libraries throughout the capital. These libraries, which are open free to the public, contain all types of books and references. There is a special emphasis on children’s libraries.

Recreational Services
The Municipality has set aside and established more than 150 garden and public park throughout the capital in addition to a number of amusement places where games and others services are also included. The Municipality has also established birds’ zoos and traffic parks where children are taught the rules of public safety. Moreover, many Information Technology Centers have been opened in various parts of the City. The Centers, which were established by the Municipality are open to citizens wishing to train on the use of computers for free.

Use of Facilities Free of Charge
The Municipality established several exhibition halls used by citizens in displaying their works of art, as well as a number of sports fields, in support of sports. An example of the latter is King Abdullah II Sports City in east Amman.

Services Related to Arts
The Municipality’s efforts in this regard are represented by a folk arts troupe formed by the Municipality, which participates in national celebrations. The Municipality Troupe for Folkloric Arts is a superb representative of Jordanian folklore.

This is one of the new and exceptional services that GAM provides to citizens in order to ease and facilitate processing of their applications, thus minimizing efforts and waiting time. The service consists of an assigned telephone number connected to a computer which citizens can call to inquire about their applications that were submitted to Municipality departments or regional offices, or about documents needed for processing applications, by calling 4650900
