Some
consider the source of the Jordan River to be the springs that
streams down from the Golan Heights. This is so because its
tributaries: Hasbani, Wazani, Banyas and Al Dan all flow out of
streams arising in Mount Hermon and the foothills of the Golan
Heights, and run parallel to the western side of the Heights. At the
confluence of these tributaries and the Yarmuk River, the Jordan ,
whose waters have become indispensable for development projects in
Jordan and Palestine, begins.
