Hijaz Railway |Wadi Al- MoujebIn a
state of mind that alternates between dreaming and semi
consciousness, that’s how a tourist would spends time in Wadi Rum -
which is also called ‘Moon Valley’ because its features resemble
that of the moon. Among the commanding mountains, a visitor can
almost touch the purity of nature in the Arabian desert,
particularly in the spring.

Some
40 km north of Aqaba, the Wadi Rum region has several of the highest
mountain peaks in the Levant. Those mountains represent an exciting
challenge to mountain-climbing enthusiasts. Visitors in groups can
also traverse the Wadi’s vast tracks riding camels; they can camp
overnight in well-setup special camps that provide all that’s
needed. Hot Air Ballooning shows take place in this area, adding a
blast of magnificent colors to the already stunning landscape. But
what mostly attracts the attention of visitors to the area is the
view of the sun setting in a sea of brilliant red, and the ability
to see the stars at night coming through impeccably clear skies.
There is a modern rest
house in the area, with all the amenities. The house contains a
restaurant serving various meals. A visitor can rent tents for a
sleepover in the mountains growing in the middle of the desert.
